Power brushes and abrasives for angle grinders
Weiler Corporation is offering a line of power brushes and abrasives designed for use on large and small right angle grinders Weiler's power brush line includes a wide variety of wire wheels, cup brushes and bevel brushes in a broad selection of diameters, wire sizes and types. Users can also choose from crimped wire for flexibility and light-duty applications or knot wire for a more aggressive brushing action. The abrasives offered for right angle grinders include Tiger Discs, Weiler's premium line of coated abrasive flap discs designed to provide a high cut rate and long life and Vortec Pro flap discs which provide a high cut rate at a value price.
Application-specific flap discs include Big Cat flap discs for grinding and finishing curved and irregular surfaces and Tiger Discs for Stainless Steel grinding. In addition, Weiler also has a complete line of resin fiber discs, surface conditioning discs, cut-off wheels and Type 27 and Type 28 wheels.

Angle grinder can be used in many different positions
Metabo Corp. has introduced the W6-115, a 4-1/2-in. angle grinder. The 4.5-lb. grinder has a 2-3/16-in.-dia. grip and can be used in many different positions, the company reports. It has a 650-W, 6-amp motor and a no-load speed of 11,000 RPM. Maximum torque is 16 in.-lbs.
The grinder features a two-position side handle, a lock on switch, an accessible spindle lock, a low-profile aluminum die-cast gear housing, and high-efficiency cooling vents with front exhaust. Applications include machinery installation, metal stud construction, steel erection, maintenance, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and light cutting and grinding of concrete.

How To Use an Angle Grinder
Each wheel has an rpm rating. Be sure that the wheel has a rating equivalent or greater than grinder's maximum no-load rmp. Toolprice provides fast grinding wheels at a reasonable cost. This recommended level is usually on a tool's nameplate. . Angle grinders are used for metalwork and fabrication such as grinding down welds. They are also used in construction, and for masonry projects such cutting concrete, or chasing crack along a wall. They are commonly used in workshops, service garages and auto body repair shops. Angle grinders can be dangerous due to the high rpm involved and the sparks and bits of metal that fly off as they cut. Another danger is a cutting disk can explode when improperly used, so eye protection must be used.
While these risks can cause serious injury, use of proper safety gear will greatly reduce the risk. Because angle grinders use a light weight abrasive disc, most injuries are not threatening. Even an exploding disc tends to produce a nasty scrape or "road rash" type injury, rather than the serious injuries possible with tools such as a circular saw.

High performance solid carbide drills
Used increasingly in the aerospace industry, the aerodynamic qualities and excellent strength-to-weight ratio of composite materials will help manufacturers to meet targets for weight and fuel efficiency. As such, composites look set to become the predominant material used in aircraft manufacture over the next 3-5 years. They are, however, more brittle than metals, and their machining has brought new challenges. Designed for use in Polymer Matrix Composites (PMCs), also known as Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRPs), the drills work equally as well in Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers (CFRPs) and Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymers (GFRPs).
There is an internal coolant option for wet machining and a diamond coated option to further enhance tool life. The range is available from 2.38mm to 20mm diameter and with overall lengths up to 310mm as a ‘special order’, allowing the end user to specify their own requirements, including sizes, applications and cutting conditions.

New Bosch Accessories - Bits & Blades
Four of the recent additions to the Bosch accessories line: Fiber Cement Blades - The 7 ?” hard body blade features six carbide teeth brazed with C4 ultra-fine carbide that lasts longer than standard carbide. Bosch is one of only two blade manufacturers who produce their own carbide.
The thin kerf design removes less material, which results in a cleaner, faster cut. The new blade, part # CB706FC, is equipped with deep gullets engineered to minimize dust when cutting. Regular carbide blades will pulverize the material, whereas the Bosch blade chips away the material in larger chunks reducing the amount of dust generated.
Developed for working with cement fiber board, backer board and Masonite, the Bosch
Carbide Tipped Fiber Cement Circular Saw Blade has a 5/8” arbor to fit any standard circular saw and it also features a 13/16” diamond knock-out for worm drive saws.
Carbide Glass and Tile Bits - Starting at 1/8” up to 1” in diameter, the industry’s largest bit size, they are equipped with a 3-flat shank to reduce slippage that leads to more accurate cutting.
These tungsten carbide bits are diamond ground to a precision point that eliminates walking and its reinforced head prevents the carbide from cracking.
